Below are photos from a Beyond Adobe project in Clarkdale, Arizona. We constructed a one-room edition for the community center in town.
EXTERIOR:
The beginning: First, we construct the block stem wall.

Then we lay the first adobe block on the stem wall.

And here is the end product of the first day's work.

The wall is rising high...
and higher!
And finished! Next, we place the knock outs and we spread a little sample plaster on wall.

Next, we construct the bond beam detail atop the finished adobe block wall.
Then we pour the bond beam.
And the bond beam form is complete!

Here is the completed bond beam with rafters.

And more rafters.
The roof is sheathed!
INTERIOR:

Pouring the floor.

Now we wait until the floor is dry.

The wall - exposed, stablized adobes.
The first coat of earth plaster on the wall.
The first coat of lime plaster on the ceiling.
Here comes the mud!

The interior plaster takes shape.

And all done...straight earth plaster. Notice the wood bond beam - beautiful!

And the (almost) finished project!
