Hilltop Adobe Home

Beyond Adobe was contracted to make the adobe bricks on site and then stack all of the walls for this 3000 square foot passive solar home. This secluded residence features twenty-four inch, unstabilized double adobe walls with center insulation. With so much built-in earthen mass, the temperature in this home is moderated incredibly. The foundation was constructed using a traditional rubble rock trench and concrete grade beam. Locally harvested lumber was used for window/door bucks, lintels, and other architectural elements. Natural earth and lime plasters were applied to the AMERICAN clay interior over our mix and type s on exterior.
